Mission: To provide for the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the drinking water and groundwater resources of the state.
The Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund (DWGTF) was established in 2016 to receive the $276 million settlement funds from ExxonMobil for MtBE contamination to the state’s drinking water and groundwater resources. Under the guidance of the Drinking Water and Groundwater Advisory Commission, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services administers several loan and grant programs with the money to achieve the DWGTF mission.
